Monty’s

It was in January 2009, Pam Honeyman, owner and Head Brewster of Monty’s Brewery produced her first casks of ale. It was only the third brew before Monty’s Sunshine started to get the recognition it still demands today, winning the “Darlington Spring Thing CAMRA Beer Festival”. The old cliché of the rest is history stands tall here. With over fourteen recipes now, seasonal and specials, the brewery has grown from strength to strength.

Bottling soon became an integral part of what we do here at Monty’s Brewery, and in January 2013 a new bottling plant was installed to sit in-line with our Atwell labeller. The labeller came first. The Atwell Engineer came and installed the labeller along with the IC E printer and showed the whole team how to set it up and get the most out of the machine. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The bottling line came later and fitted in easily with the labeller. Bottle production went from a very labour intensive 2 days per pallet to an easy 4 pallets per day full process.
