Managing Director / Co-Owner
Having bought Atwell’s as a going concern back in 2005 my role has been to develop the companies profile, customer base and develop the team of people that Atwell’s employ, the company has grown year on year and is now the UK’s leading independent supplier of self-adhesive labelling systems combined with the ever growing customer, consumable and linerless business.
My day to day role is to ensure that everything runs smoothly within the office coupled with looking after sales for the southern half of the UK and the ever growing export market place.
An engineer by trade I work closely with the other sales staff, engineers and our customers to develop new ideas and labelling concepts, working on the basis that “nothing is impossible”.
As MD I am very proud of the team we have here at Atwell’s as we all do what we can to deliver the customers’ expectations.
As a time served mechanical engineer with machine design, build, service and sales experience totalling over 35 years in the labelling machine industry, I am extremely proud to work as part of the highly experienced and customer focused team at Atwell covering the North of England.
Having spent many years in an industry I thoroughly enjoy, I am always looking to develop new ideas and concepts to support both new and existing customers with their labelling needs, working alongside partner companies to deliver both standard and special purpose equipment for some of the most challenging requirements.
Based near Preston along the Fylde coast I am married with one daughter and enjoy cycling whilst being out and about in my local area whenever I can.
Company Secetary / Co-Owner
Sales & Service Engineer
I currently have 32 years engineering experience in the packaging industry, specifically in the labelling sector. Skills covered so far are: Machine build and Test, Installation and Commissioning, Service and Repair, Sales, Project Management, Design using Autocad and Inventor 3D. Current Roll is a combination of Service, Installation and Sales. To date a total of 7 years service with Atwell Labellers.
Over the years, Andrew has worked in a number of industries including Insurance, ICT and Manufacturing before coming to join the team at Atwell Labellers. His time elsewhere has seen him take up various administrative, management and technical roles although the last ten years has seen
him acting as a Head Of Operations in food manufacturing with the vast majority of his time having been spent at Reflex Nutrition Ltd in Brighton.
During his tenure here, he oversaw daily operations including the warehouse, production, engineering and hygiene departments, managing H&S and taking a lead on overall Quality. He managed a business relocation project including the design and build of new premises and was also part of the senior management team that sold Reflex Nutrition to FMCG giant, Associated British Foods in 2017. When ABF subsequently acquired another sports nutrition brand, HIGH 5, he then spent a further year working for ABF, helping to bring the Reflex and High5 businesses together in his capacity as Head of Manufacturing and Safety for the combined business, now dubbed AB Sports Nutrition, before choosing to move on in 2018.
He subsequently spent 18 months with another Food Manufacturer as their Operations Manager before leaving for a fresh challenge at Atwell Labellers.
His role here at Atwell is to support David and Helen in the day to day smooth running of the business. Andrew lives in Brighton and is married with two children.
Gareth spent the first part of his working life as a soldier in the British Army. Serving 16 years as a Staff Sergeant in the Royal Corps of Signals. Completing various roles and tasks including operations in Kosovo and Iraq. Specialising as a military skills instructor and man manager to 50 soldiers.
After leaving the Army Gareth moved his transferable skills into sales within the packaging industry. Sales was a natural move as it follows the basic principles of problem-solving that had been a large part of his life. Working with customers to meet their requirements, timeline and budget to solve their project requirements. After six successful years providing coding and marking equipment into the FMCG market Gareth was ready for a new challenge.
Gareth joined Atwell in May 2018 to look after the growing customer base in the South of England. Based near Bristol he has enjoyed the new demand for labelling. Working with a host of different industries to solve their label application requirements.
Gareth is married with 3 children and enjoys walking his dogs and spending time with the family.
